Five Session Seminar in Modern Psychoanalysis

A five-session seminar presenting Modern Psychoanalytic theory and techniques will be offered in the spring of 2016, beginning on February 20, at 10:30 am. 

Via selected readings, case material and group process, the seminar seeks to create deeper understanding of the key concepts of joining, contact function and emotional induction, and how they enhance the process of progressive communication.

Each seminar will meet for 90-minutes. This seminar is available to seasoned clinicians as well as to those new to the field.

Dates: Saturdays at 10:30 am.  Classes will meet monthly beginning February 20, 2016

Clinical Supervision: Small Group Supervision

For seasoned clinicians as well as those new to the field, this group will focus on the dynamics and treatment of beginning and/or ongoing cases presented, through the use of modern analytic techniques.  Group members will be able to present their own child, adolescent or adult cases from private practice or their workplace.  A small group is offered for a more intense supervisory experience.

Dreaming

Dreaming is the most mysterious thing we will ever do. Focusing on a series of ten "big" dreams, we will consider the history, science and psychoanalytic perspectives of dreaming.

Dr. Michael Beck will present a case where the main resistance will be a preoccupation with current reality. Dr. Beck's presentation will precede the monthly Board meeting.
